Question_mark Question:

Would it be cheesy if we add fun locations from our love story to our WeddingMapper map? My groom wants to keep it just to the wedding sites and hotels, but I want to fill our map with cute things like where we had our first date. I think our guests would love that!!

Answer:

It's brilliant!! Yes, I think it's a fabulous idea to add some personal touches to your wedding map -- including the location where you had your first date (and make sure to add a sentence or two with an inside story about the date, such as 'It was strangley quiet there that night, as if we were meant to have an easier time talking!'), the location where you had your first kiss, and 2 or 3 more locations that are special to your love story.

For our wedding, we added not just the hotels for our guests' easy location, we also added all the nearby Dunkin Donuts since we were giving our OOT guests gift cards to Dunkin Donuts in their welcome gift bags. And we added the location of a nearby Target in case anyone needed to buy anything while they were in town.

This is what I love about WeddingMapper, and why I used it for my own wedding -- getting to personalize your map to make it fun for guests and really useful to them is so important!

So if your groom is still concerned about adding personal locations and stories to your map, create a happy medium: just put two or three special sites on the map, as well as the sites for the entire wedding weekend.
