Expert Advice from wedding guru, Sharon Naylor
Question:
Hi, Sharon! I am having a really hard time trying to pick out my wedding colors. I found a dress that is the color (Blush) and I was going to do tropical colors like orange and different shades of pink but I not sure what color my bridesmaids dresses should be if I do those colors. Then I thought about doing purple but I am getting married in July in Jamaica. I think because I am not sure about my colors is making me not like the dress anymore and it was love at first sight. When I seen it online but by time I tried the dress on I was not sure anymore. Please help me :)
Answer:
Ooo, I love your idea of having the different shades of pink and orange -- that sounds like it would be really lovely in a tropical environment! Or, if you'd prefer your bridesmaids in a different shade of pink than your blush gown, such as a brighter pink, perhaps they can carry pink and purple flowers, or pink and orange flowers!
Don't let the bridesmaid dress colors change the way you feel about your dress. If it was love at first sight, hang onto that! And build all the other plans around it. I've even seen bridesmaids in light pink dresses carrying pink, purple and orange bouquets for a really vivid pop of color!
Or bring that purple touch into your cake decor...such as with pinks, oranges and a touch of purple for depth. you can use all of these colors, just in different ways than with the bridesmaids' dresses. The flowers, and the jewelry, gives you lots of color opportunities!!
