Question_mark Question:

Hello! I am trying to decide my colors, I like green and blue. My fiance' will be wearing brown cowboy boots. My favorite color is green and I was thinking of having green table clothes with blue and white bouquets as center pieces. My question is, do you think that a medium brown suit with green tie and brown boots would look alright? Also, I am not sure if my bridesmaids will look good in green, should that matter? What do you think of my color scheme (kiwi/sage green, and royal blue)? Or should I do a khaki shirt and blue tie, and blue dresses?

Answer:

Your color scheme sounds beautiful, and greens and blues are actually the #1 color plan for weddings right now! I like the sound of the brown suit and green tie -- especially if you bring in lots of tans and browns into your floral pieces. It's a big trend to use lots of greenery that has really lovely brown stalks, as well as tall branches, so that would tie your entire color scheme together really nicely.

As for the green dresses for your bridesmaids, send them a few photos of different shades of green. I had my bridesmaids in sage green, which looked lovely on both my blonde and brunette bridesmaids. There's also deeper hunter green that would look really nice with a mix of green flowers and greenery in their bouquets.

Of course, you can always have your bridesmaids in blue if you find a shade that works beautifully, and have them carry a mix of green and blue flowers in their bouquets. I'm seeing really gorgeous sapphire-colored bridesmaids' dresses that work with green and blue florals, and would be great for a summer, fall or winter wedding.

The big question is this: which color -- green or blue -- would you bridesmaids feel they would wear again? Show them a few options of what you're considering and get their feedback. Bridesmaids love having a say.

If you have any other questions, just let me know...but the decisions about what colors to wear will always be what feels right when you see it. :]
