Question_mark Question:

Hi Sharon, My fiance and I are getting married/eloping in September in FL. We would like ton have a small celebration when we get back, 40-50 people. Do people do brunches or luncheons? I am stuck!

Answer:

Thanks for your question!

You can have any style of celebration you wish! There's no set style of post-celebration, so you can choose any type of party that works as your favorite style, on your budget. I like hotel brunches because they're usually quite inexpensive, offer a huge array of foods and desserts, and many offer a free champagne or mimosa. Being early in the day, most people won't drink a lot, so the added bar orders won't likely add up to much (if it's even offered at all!)

Another type of post-party that you may find is the casual at-home party, that's catered by a personal chef on-site, or one you self-cater with platters from Costco or other warehouse store. You may need to rent a few things for an at-home party, so keep that in mind.

One way to keep the at-home party less expensive is to do a dessert and wine party, where the menu is filled with all kinds of desserts that you and friends can make, and then just order a professional cake for a treat. Get wines and beers from a discount liquor store, and your dessert party is a trendy hit!

Good luck to you! And congratulations!
