Expert Advice from wedding guru, Sharon Naylor
Question:
Is there any advice on not stressing out while planning for the big day?
Answer:
Wedding stress can hit any bride at any time, and believe it or not, there's a type of wedding stress that happens when everything is going so well, you can't believe it!
My top tips for keeping wedding stress at bay are:
1. Keep a gratitude journal, so that you can always look back on how many people were helpful, what HAS gone your way, and especially the loving moments with your partner.
2. Keep your perspective. This is about your relationship, not a big splashy party, so always be sure you're reminding yourself about what's beautiful in your partnership.
3. Remember that people respond in their own time...some take a day to get back to you, some will email right away. So dial down your expectations of getting fast responses, and you'll be much less stressed.
4. Ask for help. Give up the idea that in order for everything to go well, you have to do it. Trust your wedding planner and your bridal party to help you complete everything on your list.
5. Stick to your budget -- nothing will stress you out more than letting it get out of control!
6. Plan for fun! Go out with the girls, go on dates with your partner, see family, play with pets, just have fun to decompress.
