Old North Bridge

Attraction

In case you out-of-towners haven't heard it enough, let us remind you that Concord has an important place in American history. It was here at the Old North Bridge that the "shot heard 'round the world" was fired on April 19, 1775.

Minuteman National Historical Park stretches out 112 acres around the Old North Bridge and includes a visitor's center with information about the opening battles of the American Revolution and the 19th-century literary revolution in Concord, which involved Thoreau, Emerson, Hawthorne, and Alcott, among others.
