August 10, 2021 We tied the knot!

Many people love their DVC membership, from time to time -depending on the reasons -- some people decide to offer their membership. What do you do if you want to sell your membership? You have two choices. You can either offer your contract back to Disney. If they decide to purchase the contract back, you can be sure that you'll be compensated much less than the market value of your vacation points. The other option, and the most popular to go with is an Resale broker. Resale brokers are real estate agents licensed by the state (a prerequisite to sell or represent timeshares). The procedure is easy:

Speak to a office of the brokerage
Contact a broker for resales at their office and inform them of the details of your contract (home resort, use year the number of points you own, the current status of your points, etc. ).
The agent will then advise you on what the market is selling the contract at.
After you've settled on the price you'd like to sell your membership to the agent, they will provide you with a listing agreement via email. Fill out the information and then scan or forward it by fax to the broker.
When the payment is received, the broker will confirm the points after confirming the points with Disney. They will also go over pricing details with you. Following that, the broker will put your package on their website. When you intend to breaking news about DVC resales, click over here.

Depending on the broker, it typically takes less than 30 days to find a buyer. Closing times can range from 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the broker. The title company will mail you a check that is certified for the proceeds (selling price less any commissions and fees for the broker which typically are 8.5 percent). The typical price for selling your contract is approximately 8.5% commission to the broker and $150 Disney fee at the time of closing.

If your contract is not able to sell, then you typically won't be charged any fees or charges imposed. The Timeshare Store is our site's sponsor. They've represented sellers and buyers of DVC for over 25 years. They do not charge upfront costs and handle every aspect of selling including advertising and listing your contract , as well as obtaining all documents, including the deposit for the escrow. The Timeshare Store will also manage Disney's Right of First Refusal process (Disney reserves the right to purchase the contract when they believe it's in their best interest to make the purchase).
