hello ladies, my name is Bri im new here my fiance and i recently got engaged and have set a date for may 14 2011. we have decided our colors will be Tiffany blue,plum,white and a little bit of silver. Tho our wedding is in 2011,we both are big planners. My father has ask to pay for the wedding but asked us how much of a budget we need. We weren't going to have a big wedding at first but C and i just started writting down names and already its getting bigger and bigger,my mom is really excited and she too has said she will do all she can to contribute,as well as adding distant family members,My question is how have some of you come up with a budget?? i'm really not trying to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars,but i want my guest to enjoy them selves. i did a little research and i saw someone say that the average wedding cost about 30,000.00 dollars. how true that is i dont know. how have some of you saved money?? To the people that have already married if givin the chance would you spend less on certain things you thought you just have to have your in your wedding??
For anyone thats getting married in fort lauderdale florida,do you know of any ballroom reception halls? I've been browsing the internet and haven't found anything that i really loved.
MOTHER NATURE: are any of you worried about the weather,or let along aunt flow(monthly cycle)showing up on the big day?? Thats a big worry for me,am i the only one? how have some of you planned around that if your not regualr.

Hi We are getting married august 2011. I know is far from now, but you always have to check on prices, and options. We also do not want a big wedding, our budget is not that big. I love the idea about the rings, one thing less to think about. Also I heard that buying flowers on line, saves you a lot of money too, doing ourselves the arrangements and buying all flowers in bulk can earn you a lot of money, a friend of mine had a very good experience with The Flower Exchange,and she recommended to me, why dont you give them a call and see how much money you can save...

That makes your rings even more special considering they were made from gold from friends and family out of love!
Ironically Im in a similar situation. My fiance is a UK resident and I am of course here in the US. The stress of dealing with Immigration is a job in and of itself and a expensive! Then to add to that there is the wedding *sighs* but it will all be worth it in the end!! Good luck and congras on your little blessing!

For the rings we have had mine made, including 2 emeralds and 2 diamonds, Steves ring made to measure (approz a z) and the shank on my engagement ring thickened. With the gold we had the cost was £400 but we are to insure the 2 wedding rings for £1300 so not a bad return! We could have had them completly free had mine been a plain band.
We havent even thought about imigration yet lol, Steve will move here for a few years then we hope to move back over there when we have saved a little. But the cost is a worry "sigh".
Pammy, I made my wedding bouquets myself, artificial of course as I am a qualified florist, the flowers alone for me were £60 before I made them up. Please make sure you see lots of pictures of the flowers you are going to buy as the price really does make a difference, you do get what you pay for.
Only 5 weeks to go now lol and loads of little things just keep appearing to be done! Cant wait
