Question_mark Question:

What would be a fun bachelor party that would not involve exotic dancers? Having trouble coming up with ideas. from Michigan

Answer:

The biggest trend right now is taking your group -- even a co-ed group of both the men and the ladies -- to a sporting event. It doesn't have to be a pro sports game where tickets are super-expensive. Right now, tickets to minor-league ballgames are super-popular, with a private box booked for your group and 'catering' of hot dogs, beer, pretzels, nachos, and most minor league teams will bring in the mascot for photos. This is popular for groups that would like parents and kids invited to this pre-wedding celebration, pretty much wiping out the concept of the drunken stripper-fest that's gone out of style.

What is your guy's group into? We're seeing more groups getting concert tickets, tix to community theaters and comedy clubs, and day trips to nearby casinos.

Also popular: a day at the beach or at a park where everyone can plan volleyball. On a higher budget, everyone can go play a round of golf at someone's golf club [guest fees are usually involved, but it's still awesome to get on a private clubs links!].

I've heard about grooms surprising their friends with a visit to a bookstore where their childhood sports hero will be autographing books, and then everyone gets great photos and then goes out to dinner.

I welcome other suggestions in the Comments here...what else is everyone doing in place of the stripperfest?

Comment From Kristin at Wedding Mapper:
Glad you got your Bachelor party all settled! Enjoy the game. For you other grooms out there another option (besides Sharon's many great suggestions) is a camping wknd. A lot of guys out here go to Yosemite for a weekend. It could be just a local forest, though, or just for a day (rather than a weekend). But as Sharon mentioned, it totally depends on what you guys like to do!

Another popular option is for the guys to go to an arcade and play video games and play mini golf. My husband did that with his groomsmen for their bachelor party and everyone had a blast! It's like they were all 12 again!
