Question_mark Question:

How do I come up with a color scheme. Both my Fiance and I like blue but I don't know what to put it with. I was going with chocolate brown, but I have problems in getting the brown chair covers. Also the hall I am using is white so I don't know how brown chairs and blue table cloths with look in it. Any suggestions?

Answer:

Here's a little secret that I use when I want to see what a wedding location will look like with white walls and certain color tablecloths: I go to Bed Bath & Beyond or another similar store, and I go right to the tablecloth section. I stand up a white one, then put the blue one right in front of it as the tablecloth look, then place the other colors of napkins and accents around it to get a look at what my scene could look like. For brown and blue, don't worry about the white walls...when you have a great color scheme going on, no one even sees the walls and ceiling :] With blue, I'd do a few colors of blue -- they have some amazing ones, including fabulous teal-type blues that really pop, a deeper turquoise, ocean blue and blush blue. Then I'd use a few brown and gold color pops, and I'm even seeing a lot of bronze to give a deeper, more natural look in the blend. Don't use white in your decor, or that will call attention to those white walls and ceiling, making *them* pop, which isn't what you want.
Blue and brown together looks terrific, and you may be quite fine with one fabulous shade of blue, and then a range of browns from tan to chocolate. I've seen lots of chair colors in tan, so that'll be easier to find, or you can use a lighter blue chair cover to coordinate with a deeper blue tablecloth...just mix up shades of the two colors, and you'll be great!
