Question_mark Question:

Hi Sharon,

I've spent a lot of time looking for a searchable list of venues and detailed pricing for each venue. I know prices vary tremendously (based on the number of options available per venue, # of guests, etc.) but in the technology age I have to think there is a reference site out there where I can at least get some basic info on one site?

Nonetheless, I was hoping you could either A) provide a link, OR B) tell me it doesn't exist and save me a lot of time and effort looking for it! Hearing it from an expert will put this to rest for me!

FYI - our wedding will be in the DC area/Northern Virginia -- in case that helps.

Thank You,
Christian Vergara

Answer:

Great question! It doesn't exist. What you'll find are ranges, such as $$ and $$$$ in those charts in regional bridal magazines, and then you can contact each of the vendors who seem to fit what you want to go for a consultation and customize your package plans with them.

Most experts don't put their prices online or in any kind of chart, because they customize their plans according to what you want, and prices change by the season. They also may charge more week-to-week due to the fluctuating prices of food, flowers and other things according to the market, what's available and what their suppliers charge in this economy.

A great wedding coordinator can help make this process faster for you, because they know what each vendor charges (ballpark) and which ones will give you a great deal according to what you want. So I'd say that hiring a coordinator just to help find and book your sites and vendors is the closest thing you'll get to a master list, it's a time-saver, and many can negotiate discounts for you!
