Question_mark Question:

I am trying to plan a wedding for next June. Originally wanted an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception, but an now leaning more toward a ceremony and reception at the same venue. How common is this and how do I pull it off so that it is elegant?

Answer:

You're in luck! There are so many gorgeous locations that offer both indoor and outdoor settings in one, so that you can have your ceremony in the garden area and then your cocktail party on their terrace and your reception indoors! Tour a bunch of locations that you discover here on WeddingMapper.com, and you'll find yourselves at the one site that meets all of your needs. If you still need some extra guidance, it's a great idea to hire a wedding coordinator to help you find the perfect location. Visit www.bridalassn.com to find candidates near you, and interview well to find the one who offers what you need in a partial or full package...whatever works best for you. Wedding coordinators know all of the locations in your area, including those that are amazing but don't advertise [they're doing quite well and are in demand, so they don't need to!] A pro in the know can help you find them.

It's very common now to have your ceremony and reception in one place, and guests enjoy not having to travel from one place to another. You also save on transportation costs since you don't have to go anywhere else! Sites with great gardens and views are everywhere, and you'll need to tour and ask lots of questions to find out what *they* do to make it elegant, plus what you'll be allowed to bring in. Some sites, for instance, won't let you put up a tent on their grounds, and they might have rules about decor hanging in their trees, etc. Chat well with the manager, and you'll make it fabulous!
