Expert Advice from wedding guru, Sharon Naylor
Question:
We are having a New Years Eve wedding-The bridesmaid dresses are a long black jersey knit with the top being one shoulder in a off-white satin with a rhinestone pin-the groomsmen in black tuxes with white shirts-flowers are a magenta color-The reception location is very classy-oriental rugs-mahogany bar etc. I am at a loss for what to do with table cloth color-The centerpieces will be adorned with rhinestones, crystals, etc. Please help!!! Thank you!!
Answer:
Whenever you have a black and white theme and a flower color, it always looks fresh and elegant to use white tablecloths and add a runner that matches one of the shades of your flowers. Table runners can be rented or easily made for less, if you know someone who's talented with sewing and can take terrific fabric and hem it to your prescribed lengths. I also like the idea of using colored napkins such as your magenta and tying in the white and the color in flowers attached to each napkin ring.
I know I wrote you personally on your question, but I also wanted to remind you to look at the colors in the Oriental rug to see if there's a tie-in color that works with the magenta. I'd also put a tiny touch of crystals on the napkin rings to unify the tabletop decor.
