Expert Advice from wedding guru, Sharon Naylor
Question:
Okay, so my boyfriend is in the Marines, and he wants to have a Fourth of July wedding w/red white & blue colors. But this just seems corny to me, is it? ..I was thinking Plum & and pale yellow would be beautiful colors for an Easter wedding.
Answer:
Okay, I can help! When this kind of Couples Color Clash comes up, the great solution is to use his Red, white and blue color theme for your couples bridal shower or for the rehearsal dinner, and then use your lovely plum and pale yellow color scheme for the actual reception and your flowers, etc. This way, you both get your choices, and you don't have to look like a 4th of July parade when you're walking down the aisle!!!
I congratulate your groom for his service, and I encourage you to find fun ways to bring tributes to your patriotism into the day -- how about a table of red, white and blue desserts at the dessert hour? Or patriotic cookies as your favors?
Good for you for being right on the trend of using His and Hers color schemes in the two different main wedding events...and don't forget that you can also use Red white and blue at the morning after breakfast, or as the theme for guest welcome bags at the hotel, whatever you both decide would be fun!
