Hi!

We are getting married September 25, 2010 (if everything goes as planned of course). My mom has my grandma's original wedding dress and I had this cool idea about possibly wearing it for my wedding. I'm obviously going to talk to my grandma about it first, but I think she would immediately start crying out of happiness! Anyway, my mom found it while I was home over Christmas. Unfortunately she had it folded up in a bag in the basement (ah!). Needless to say it's wrinkled, musky smelling, and has a small rip under the skirt. The underside of it is satin, there is mesh over the satin on the skirt, there is mesh/flowered material over the torso and has long sleeves with the same material, as well as a sheer mesh that goes up over the chest and buttons behind the neck. The back is similar although it buttons up the back and then has the mesh, with a small open area where the top button closes around the neck. I wish I could get pictures on here of it, but I don't have the camera with me. Does anyone know of any great places that could potentially help me out with restoring this dress? It really is beautiful and of course along the style I was looking for. I just think it would be so amazing to wear the dress again, with Grandma's permission. Ha.
