Since one of the ways through which Jared and Lauren became close friends was the high school youth group at Trinitarian Congregational Church, it's only appropriate that they say their wedding vows there all these years later.
The wedding ceremony begins at 4:30 pm. Parking is available in the town lot behind the shops on Walden Street as well as along Walden and Hubbard Streets.
Built in 1900 by John Howard Pierce, this yellow, Georgian-style house overlooks 30 acres of lawn, woods and ponds.
Cocktail hour will start here at 5:30 on Sunday, with dinner and dancing to follow.
Originally built in 1716, Concord's Colonial Inn is a local landmark and sits right on Monument Square.
We've got a block of rooms reserved for $214/night. To make reservations, refer to the Sardina-Cosulich wedding.
This hotel was actually Lauren's "home" during the first couple of days after she moved to town in 1993, before the Sardina family moved into their new house. They ate a lot of breadsticks that week from Papa Razzi (the Italian restaurant next door)!
We've got a block of rooms reserved for $124/night. Please refer to the Sardina-Cosulich wedding when booking.
This new hotel brand (owned by Starwood Resorts and inspired by Westin Hotels) has an environmentally-friendly design influenced by nature and made for a healthy lifestyle. The sleek, contemporary rooms and inviting public spaces offer a distinct contrast to the antiquity and charm of the surrounding New England towns.
Definitely the best airport for out-of-towners to use. And if you didn't get enough New England while you're here, you can always pick up some chowda from the airport Legal Seafoods on your way out!
Jared grew up on a perfect neighborhood street, riding bikes with the kids down the block and playing in Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. They also enjoyed running around the woods during thunderstorms playing Gods and Demons, or some such typical boyhood game!
Many an afternoon were spent lounging in the hammock or chillin' on the roof at the Sardinas' old house. (Michael and Susan weren't so thrilled with the roof hang-out, of course.) Jared even occasionally threw pebbles at Lauren's window in the middle of the night...and this was before they ever dated!
Jared likes to tease Lauren for claiming to have had the "quintessential childhood," but really this neighborhood was pretty awesome. Lauren and Kristin even found a dinosaur footprint fossilized in a rock while "exploring" the creek one day...Girl Scout promise!
After 12 years in Concord, Michael and Susan moved to Cohasset, MA, along the South Shore. They love coastal living, which includes lots of time on the boat, fishing, and eating lobster!
The scene of the crime...where Jared and Lauren met in math class back in November of 1993. Also where they graduated from four-and-a-half years later.
We say that Jared's "worlds collided" one fateful night in November of senior year of high school when his formerly rather separate groups of girl and guy friends bonded. However, the seeds of these new relationships were also planted back at The Active Mind earlier that fall.
Jared was the first to get an after-school job at this educational toy shop, but Lauren, Dave, Ryan, and Liz all followed suit. Jared had moved on to bigger and better things by then (waiting tables at Brighams!), but Lauren's friendships with Dave, Liz, and Ryan flourished.
Tragically, The Active Mind closed while we were in college and now it's some chi-chi boutique. But the memories live on...
Walden Pond was made famous around the world by Thoreau's book Walden, which chronicled the author's time living in a one-room cabin on the side of the pond from 1845 to 1847.
Walden Pond State Reservation includes 462 acres of protected open space, which are ideal for hiking, swimming, and just appreciating the beauty of nature. (Or skinny dipping at midnight...just ask Jared.)
In case you out-of-towners haven't heard it enough, let us remind you that Concord has an important place in American history. It was here at the Old North Bridge that the "shot heard 'round the world" was fired on April 19, 1775.
Minuteman National Historical Park stretches out 112 acres around the Old North Bridge and includes a visitor's center with information about the opening battles of the American Revolution and the 19th-century literary revolution in Concord, which involved Thoreau, Emerson, Hawthorne, and Alcott, among others.
Founded in 1886, the Concord Museum is an educational center focused on the history and culture of this important American town.
Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge stretches 10 miles along the Concord River.
Jared would take advantage of the visitors who'd pass his house to come visit the meadows and frequently sold lemonade from a stand in his driveway -- complete with live saxophone accompaniment!
It's only the best ice cream you'll ever have! A summertime staple in Carlisle (next to Concord). Lauren's family knew it took exactly 8 minutes to drive there and would often look at the clock and say, "We can just make it. Let's go!"
If the weather's warm, any out-of-town visitor was brought here for a treat.
It was in the arcade in front of Trinity Church that Jared proposed the Friday before Christmas, 2007. At dinner that night, Kristin and Michael had to tell the story of why this church is so significant architecturally before Lauren could announce the other reason why it's a special place!
Jared's favorite place in the whole, wide world. Jared can't wait until he and Lauren move back to Boston and get season tickets...as soon as they get off the wait list in 15 years, that is!
Dating back to 1634, the Boston Common is a center of public life. The more formal Public Gardens were created when adjacent marshland was filled in to become Back Bay in the 1830's, and they were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
When they were younger, Lauren and Kristin were especially fond of taking swan boat rides, which have run by the same family since 1877. (And as a side note, Lauren went to college with the grandson of the current proprietors!)
