Okay, so my boyfriend is in the Marines, and he wants to have a Fourth of July wedding w/red white & blue colors. But this just seems corny to me, is it? ..I was thinking Plum & and pale yellow would be beautiful colors for an Easter wedding.

Okay, I can help! When this kind of Couples Color Clash comes up, the great solution is to use his Red, white and blue color theme for your couples bridal shower or for the rehearsal dinner, and then use your lovely plum and pale yellow color scheme for the actual reception and your flowers, etc.... My favorite color-selection inspiration is to go to the paint section at Home Depot and stand in front of all the paint color strips to get a really good look at which colors coordinate well with lilac. I'm not a coordinator, so I don't know the best places in that area.
